Our Purpose

The purpose of Cumberland Presbyterian Women's Ministry (CPWM) is to accept and share the love and joy of Jesus Christ through the ministry of women in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. We seek to do this as we pray, study God's Word, and reach out to others through mission, service, encouragement, and fellowship opportunities. This goal is accomplished through a diversity of ministries.

Our theme this year is “Rise Up!” based on Isaiah 40:31. “Those who wait upon the Lord’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings.” This is not a time of passive waiting, and we trust that God has things in control. We can take the time needed to be renewed, to run and not grow weary, and not faint. New life can begin because God who holds creation together acts in the lives of God’s children for good. (2021 CPWM)

Our local CPWM meets on the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 for lunch (bring your own sandwich), business, and a devotional program.
Most meetings are held in Moorelock Hall.

We support  CPWM 2021-2022 Women’s Ministry Projects and Offerings:
*Stott-Wallace Missionary Fund: This fund supports the salaries and benefits of CP missionaries serving outside the United States. Cumberland Presbyterian Women have a long history of supporting missionaries and the missionary effort.

*Funding for the Cumberland Presbyterian Women and Children’s Ministry In Brazil: CP Missionaries Josue and Sara Guerrero minister to the children and communities of the churches. During the year area churches gather at the church camp for weekend retreats. Funding is needed to sustain and grow this ministry.

*Employee Assistance Program (EAP): The EAP is available to help ministers and their families receive counseling services to remain the spiritual foundation we need.

Each spring our local CPWM determines which local community causes to support for the current project year.

2021-2022 CPWM Officers:
